Construction Vocational Qualifications

Outline

Young people are introduced to a range of construction trade skills. The sessions run with a high staff: student ratio of 1:1 by a qualified teacher to allow the content to be personalised to the young persons needs.

With each trade covered, young people learn about the required hand tools before being taken through a series of project based learning sessions.

Units covered include tiling, bricklaying, joinery, upcycling furniture, electrical circuits, ground work and plastering.

We use photographic evidence of each task the pupils perform which is then used to build their portfolio of evidence. Once they have achieved all of the assessment criteria they are awarded with their qualification.

We focus on developing the young persons confidence in practical learning through the progression of activities as we cover each unit.

We can also offer support on how the young person can continue to develop their skill set and specialise in a specific trade through college or apprenticeship opportunities.
